3. The Parentals

Describe your relationship with your parents.

There never was a time in my life that I wasn't close with my parents, alhamdullilah. In fact, it tears me apart to think that one day we may not be together again in this life. I sometimes hope that we will all grow really old together and leave this world together in some peaceful way so that we will never have to be apart.

My dad is one to truly look up to. He served in the United States Navy for over 20 years making sacrifices for his family and his country. Even today he makes many sacrifices for all of us with his current job. Most days out of the year he is traveling somewhere in this world. When he comes home for a short weekend or a longer vacation we make sure the family is together having a good time.
My father, like myself, has had severe panic attacks at one point in his life so, naturally, he's the one I go to when I have mine. He knows what it's like and understands all that I go through with them. I would be completely lost without him and I hate to think of the day when we will part temporarily.

As for my mother. . .wow! Just wow! What a strong and amazing woman! When she met my father (on a blind date) and got married who would have known what path her life would have led her on! Born and raised in Sicily, Italy, she spoke very little English and when moving to the States, my father had to deploy and she was left at her in laws home for 6 months, pregnant and not knowing how to speak with those around her. She basically learned English through watching TV! Amazing!
Nine years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and it later moved to her brain. Alhamdullilah, she is cancer free now! Subhan'Allah.

So, basically, you can see how much I adore my parents. Thank you God for giving them to me! How lucky I am!!! ALHAMDULLILAH!
