Day Eighteen: A picture of an insecurity you have.

(Photo taken from here)

Although I am working hard at perfecting my Arabic, I'm pretty insecure about speaking it with native speakers. There are a few sounds in Arabic that's non existent in the English language so it's difficult for me to pronounce them correctly and I feel like I sound like a dummy when I do try. LoL Anyway, I'll keep trying! I'm taking an online Arabic course through my University and it's helping me build my confidence. Slowly, but surely, insha'allah.

  1. Inshallah you'll learn :) I was actually surprised KH and Q sound were super easy for me. Usually people have the most trouble with those, but for me it's just the 'Ain sound LOL. I cannnot pronounce it no matter how hard I try!

  3. Amal,
I didn't have trouble with Q, but I did with KH. I'm getting better at it, but once in a while I sound like I'm trying to cough up a hair ball or something. LoL And I totally get you with 'Ain. OMG, how will I ever get that! HaHaHa

    Laila,
Thank you for your uplifting comment :) Insha'Allah!
