Your beliefs.
It's not specified if I'm to talk about my religious beliefs or something else so I will just stick with what I enjoy talking about the most. . .Religion.
I was born and raised Catholic. When I was younger I used to go to Sunday school and I had my first communion. Soon after this time, my family and I stopped going to church as much and usually attended mass during religious holidays. It wasn't until after I graduated high school and began a new chapter in my life that I devoted more time and energy to God. I started to attend church again and really developed a close relationship with our Creator. About a year after I started going back to church regularly, my anxiety kicked in and I let it take over a lot in my life. I stopped going to church, but I didn't stop building my relationship with God. He was still a priority in my life.
I'm not sure when my interest in other faiths began, but soon I was on a journey into something beautiful. . .Islam. During this time my thoughts and interests pretty much revolved around learning all I could about this amazing way of life. I was so fascinated. Eventually, I took my shahada, alhamdullilah. Since then (Nov. 1, 2008) I've had my ups and downs in faith, but still holding strong.
Becoming Muslim has changed much of my behavior, but not so much of my initial beliefs. In fact, one of the things that attracted me so much to Islam was that the beliefs I've always had (and could not be clearly explained to me in Christianity) were made very clear in Islam.
Alhamdullilah! Alhamdullilah! Alhadmdullilah!
Happy New Year, Lovies!
Thank you for sharing this =) Alhamdulillah, Islam has brightened up your life.
