Beauty tips?

Assalaam alaykum!

After being an avid reader of so many beautiful sisters (masha'allah) I am coming to you for advice! If you have any beauty tips, they would be greatly appreciated! Any oils you prefer? Face washes for combo skin? Anything at all!
I am especially looking for something that would give me beautiful, soft, shiny hair! I already have really thick hair and it's all natural. I choose not to color it in hopes it will stay healthy. Lately, though, it just seem so blah to me. So yeah, any advice would make me so very happy :)
Thank you!!
~XoXo~

  1. Salam Elisa,

I wrote this awhile back: http://shaelaiza.blogspot.com/2010/06/how-to-have-healthy-glowing-skin.html

Cetaphil is great as a cleanser and make up remover.

I use rose hip oil to moisturise my skin during winter cos that's when it's most dry even though I have combination skin.

Using a toner before sleeping helps me remove any left over impurities.

I have very thick hair as well (alhamdulillah), my advice is to trim it often to keep the ends healthy.

Drink lots of water! It's not only good for your skin and hair but also to keep your organs running well =)

  2. Ooh I forgot to say, Omega 3 Fish Oil really helps with hair and skin as well. A capsule a day!

  5. Assalaam Alaikum Elise,

I have so many beauty/hair tips, but I'll share a few for the sake of not overwhelming you, lol.

Finding a good facial cleanser is definitely based on personal preference, but the three I love are, in this order, the Purity cleanser by philosophy, CeraVe, and Cetaphil. My favorite moisturizer is Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer mixed with a few drops of 100% pure Jojoba Oil (it's non-comedogenic, which means it won't clog pores).

Alhumdulillah, I've also been blessed with thick hair naturally (never colored as well), and what I find works in maintaining the health of my hair is using olive oil as an overnight conditioner every couple of months.

Hope you like the tips. =)

  6. Oh wow! Thank you ALL! You ladies gave me some great advice. It sounds like Cetaphil is a winner!! I will def start using it and seeing how it works for me. Also, I will be looking for a great toner and Jojoba oil or rose hip oil. I guess I should just start with one and see how it works :) You ladies are the best!
I'll also have to give the olive oil a try. Wonder how the hubby would feel about. Maybe I'll slather him with some in the middle of the night. HaHa
Oh, Shahirah, I read your post and it was great! I especially enjoyed learning about the different areas of the face and how it can correlate with other areas of the body. Very fascinating!
Thanks again ladies. I am just so happy to have gotten to know you all through this wonderful blogging world :)
May Allah bless you all! Ameen.
