Assalam Alaykum Lovies,
I was on the road a majority of my day yesterday so I was too tired to post day three. Here it is though :) Hope all is well, insha'allah!
Your views on drugs and alcohol.
In Islam, drugs and alcohol are forbidden. Even if they weren't I would still be completely against them. Both drugs and alcohol (which I consider a drug as well) are inhabitants to disaster. I'm not completely innocent. Although I've never experimented with hard core drugs, I have had alcohol. Never once do I remember a positive outcome from drinking. Yes, it seemed fun at the time, but looking back the things I did and the people drinking around me did were shameful. I understand that some people drink moderately to not get drunk, but why even associate yourself with something that has the potential to kill?
Your views on religion.
Religon. Religion. Religion. I have to admit, I love religion. Most of all, I love Islam! This is not to say I don't love any other religions. In fact, I have a deep respect and fascination for other religious beliefs. At the core, there is peace and love in each religion I've learned about. When I see someone wear a T shirt that says "Religion Kills" I get offended. Religion doesn't kill, peoples bad actions and ignorance is what kills.
Also, I believe religion is a source of comfort for us living in such a confusing world. Whether we believe in God or believe in reincarnation, whatever it may be, religion gives us hope for something else to come. With religion there is no end.
Asalaamu Alaikum,
ReplyDeleteOn more than one occasion drugs and alcohol has torn my family apart. So I really hate them. If I had never come into contact with drugs I would still hate it for the sake of Allah swt.
