Your views on mainstream music.
In my opinion, mainstream music has the good and the bad just like any other genre. There are songs with a positive message which I will listen to and songs with a negative message that I try to stay away from. I am not the type of Muslim that believes ALL music is haram. In fact, I truly feel that there is some really great songs that make me think and reflect on my personal relationship with Allah (swt).
What are your thoughts?
Like television, with music there is the good and the bad. There's stuff like Maher Zain which is really good for the soul I think. As long as we don't neglect the Holy Qur'an to listen to Maher Zain lol.
ReplyDeleteWith other types of music... I think it's all about balance. Sometimes I listen to the current R&B and hip hop hits cos they're fun to dance to but not too often because the lyrics are usually derogatory.

Ameen! Very true, sister :) It's all about balance and making sure not to neglect the Holy Qur'an. Insha'Allah, we will all be successful in pleasing our Lord.
